Brumbies gallop across the mountain range with no fear. They dominate areas in QLD and NT of Australia, where they steal mares, breed and fight to survive in the wild. Ever since the arrival of horses, it wouldn't be a surprise that a few hundred of them escaped during the Gold Rush.
Name: Yarraman Gender: Colt (3 1/4) Coat Colour: Red Chestnut Mane/Tail Colour: Flaxen Markings: White stripe, white socks on front right leg and left back leg Comformation Info: Strong neck, powerful hindquarters, not so great forelegs History: Has left his herd in search for several fillies and a territory.
Yarraman trotted down the ridge. He was surfooted and had learned well of the ways of the bush. He had learned how to hide, fight and know the scent of a wombat, kangaroo, wallaby, man and other things too. His mother had taught him about a cunning, young man at Dead Horse Hut who was after beautiful brumbies, Yarraman was a prize. The man had tried once to catch him and no had become a challenge.

Yarraman halted as he saw the man on his black horse. The man saw the colt and kicked his horse into gallop, the blue heeler following. Yarraman turned and galloped into a group of snow cones to slow his nemisis down. He knew humans weren't silly to gallop through unsafe terrain, but brumbies can. The colt finds leading the man is a game.

When Yarraman lost the man, he slowed to the slow canter and cantered among the trees carefully. He halted at a creek and drank from the water, keeping his ears up alert for any danger.

name Mirri age 4 gender female colour silver dapple with a white snip children storm [stallion] temprement friendly and cautious
Mirri was caught twice in earlier life making her naturally cautious and quite jumpy but friendly and amiable all the same
Mirri watched Yarraman with interest from the crest of the hill following his movements keenly but she galloped away her hooves hitting the ground like pistons and raising the dust as she spotted the man on the black horse

(no fantasy in this section of the forum)
Yarraman also saw the man on the black horse. But the man was more interested in him than the mare. Yarraman spotted the mare, turned and galloped off, leading the man and his horse away from her.

Enchantia's ears went forward and she turned her head towards Tarka. She whinnied a hello. She could smell another stallion in the area. Enchantia halted, looked down at the bottom of the hill, than at Tarka and relaxed before grazing.
Yarraman lifted his tail, neighing loudly and cantered off, hoping Mirri would follow.

Enchantia snorted at Tarka. She didnt appreciate his jealousy. She thought the stallion's colour was really handsome. She stretched her neck and groomed Tarka gently.
Yarraman stopped grooming Mirri and allowed the mare to drink the water. He looked about, his ears twitching in case of danger.
